Apulia, a region in South Italy stretching along the Adriatic sea. Look at the map: our land is located at the southern extremity of Europe and in the center of the Mediterranean, very close to the East, forming a kind of geographical bridge between western Europe, the Balkans and the Middle East. Owing this privileged position, since ancient times, Apulia has always been an ideal region for human settlement and a zone of commercial and cultural exchange.

The Romans builted the Appian Way (in latin "Via Appia"), an ancient road which connected Rome with Brindisi; it was called "the Queen of roads" (regina viarum) because of its strategic linking function with the eastern provinces.

Nowadays, after the fall of the iron curtain, the war in the former Yugoslavia, the Albania's difficult return to democracy, history seems to had taken again his natural course. Communities facing the Adriatic sea, which up to a few years ago were isolated, are now discoverig they are much closer, with the consciousness that every wealth and progress will come by strengthening trade and cultural relations with each other.
